In 2007 Mike spent a year studying how the brain processes music\, in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Levitin (author of New York Times bestseller This is Your Brain on Music). Mike has taught at McGill\, Western Washington and Carleton universities\, and speaks frequently at other music schools. He is also a music instructor at Selkirk College in Nelson\, BC. \nRob Fahie attended McGill University\, completing his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. During his career\, he has performed at prestigious jazz clubs and premiere concert halls throughout the world including The Blue Note and Carnegie Hall. In 2013\, Rob moved to Nelson and has succeeded in making a name for himself on the region’s vibrant music scene. \nSteven Parish earned his BA in Audio Engineering from the Berklee College of Music. In addition to studying Drum Set at Berklee\, he also studied jazz drum set privately with Frankie Dunlop (Thelonious Monk\, Lionel Hampton)\, Latin rhythms with Frank Malabe and attended master classes presented by the great Buddy Rich. Mentored by the legendary Les Paul at age 17\, Steven’s also played\, engineered and/or programmed tracks for Rock ‘n’ Roll legend Cub Koda\, Ian Hunter\, Joe Bouchard of Blue Öyster Cult and Rap artist Stezo-E. Each show 70 minutes. \nTickets $25 – Only 50 tickets per performance \nAlex Cuba’s music incorporates his roots in a unique amalgam of styles\, bringing together melodies\, pop-soul hooks and rock chords in songs that may seem to bear little resemblance to traditional Cuban form.
