More details here.  \nThe Rick Lingard Quintet features Rick Lingard as lead vocalist and saxophonist\, Juno award-winner Mike Rud on guitar\, David Restivo on piano\, Tony Ferraro on drums\, and Doug Stephenson on bass. The band’s members have played with great artists both locally and internationally. \nPreviously the music director at Mt. Sentinel Secondary School for over twenty-five years\, Rick Lingardnow owns and operates the Kootenay Music Academy (KMA) – a private music school offering a broad range of music instruction as well as recording arts. He was an instructor at the Selkirk College Contemporary Music and Technology Program and a member of many music festival organizations both locally and provincially. Rick’s past bands include No Excuse\, The Atlantics\, Playmor Junction Big Band\, Hornography and What It Is. Rick has assembled orchestras and directed the music for: “Into the Woods”\, “Fiddler on the Roof”\, “Footloose”\, “The Sound of Music”\, “Fame”\, “Beauty and the Beast”\, “Cabaret”\, “Rock of Ages” and “The Fantastiks” among others. \nMike Rud is a Juno award-winning jazz guitarist and songwriter. He is also a music instructor at Selkirk College in Nelson\, BC. As an instrumentalist\, Mike has played alongside some of the greatest jazz musicians of the era like Peter Bernstein\, Kenny Wheeler\, Herb Ellis and Joey DeFrancesco. As a songwriter and arranger\, Mike won the 2014 Juno Award for his album “Notes on Montreal”\, a critically acclaimed musical portrait of the city. \nDavid Restivo is an award-winning pianist and composer and one of Canada’s most respected and influential jazz artists. A 3-time winner of the National Jazz Awards’ Pianist of the Year Award\, and JUNO Award winner. He is well known for his work with Rob McConnell’s Boss Brass and Tentet\, the Mike Murley Quintet\, and legendary songwriter Marc Jordan. He has also performed and recorded with Dave Holland\, Jon Hendricks\, Kenny Wheeler\, John Abercrombie\, Jerry Bergonzi\, Mel Tormé\, John Pizarelli\, the Woody Herman Orchestra\, Pat LaBarbera\, Carla Bley\, Steve Swallow\, George Garzone\, Howard Johnson\, Ingrid Jensen\, Christine Jensen\, Kevin Mahogany\, Randy Bachman (BTO/Guess Who)\, David Clayton Thomas\, Molly Johnson\, and many other outstanding artists. \nTony Ferraro is a diverse\, musical drummer that is at home with all styles of music. After achieving Percussionist of the Year at Humber College in Toronto\, his desire to immerse himself into many different genres has led his musical journey in a variety of directions. It suggests the genre of fantasy-sonata cultivated by some of the Romantic composers. \ni>The Sonata for Viola and Piano\, Op. 147 is the last composition by Dmitri Shostakovich. It was completed on July 5\, 1975\, weeks before his death. It is dedicated to Fyodor Druzhinin\, violist of the Beethoven Quartet. \nAbout the Artists: \nMarina Thibeault is a 2023 JUNO Award winner for Classical Album of the year (Large Ensemble) for the album “Viola Borealis”.\nSince being named Radio-Canada’s classical “Revelation” for 2016-2017\, violist Marina Thibeault has become an accomplished soloist and chamber musician playing across genres. Marina’s many performance highlights include Berlioz’s Harold in Italy with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montreal and the North American premiere of Peteris Vasks’s concerto with the Sinfonia Toronto. Making the production even more special\, a company of 16-20 dancers will be joined on stage by 8 local dancers. \nAnne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Although written for all ages\, it is cherished by many children. Anne Shirley\, a young orphan from the fictional community of Bolingbroke\, Nova Scotia (based upon the real community of New London\, Prince Edward Island)\, has spent a childhood living in strangers’ homes and orphanages. Anne is mistakenly sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert\, siblings in their fifties and sixties\, who were expecting to adopt a boy to help Matthew run their farm at Green Gables\, in the fictional town of Avonlea. \nAnne is highly imaginative\, eager to please and quite dramatic\, but dislikes her appearance\, despising her red hair and pale\, thin frame. And\, at first\, stern and sharp Marilla wants to return Anne to the orphanage\, but after much consideration\, along with Matthew’s strong liking of Anne\, she decides to let her stay. \nAnne takes much joy in life and adapts quickly\, thriving in the close-knit farming village. With five solo albums under his belt\, Doyle has been touring the world with his ace six-piece band for the last decade.  \nIn late 2014\, Doyle released his best-selling memoir ‘Where I Belong’\, followed by ‘A Newfoundlander In Canada’ released in October 2017\, and ‘All Together’ now released in November 2020. Amidst these projects\, Doyle found time to write music for and appear on CBC’s Republic of Doyle\, guest on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries\, a role in 2014’s Winter’s Tale and 2010’s Robin Hood. With his 2022 live album “Here\, Tonight” and a recent JUNO nominaon for his 2021 album “Back to the Harbour”\, Doyle chalks up a lot of where he is right now to luck. “I’m the luckiest guy I’ve ever even heard of\,” he says. “This was all I ever wanted\, a life in the music business\, singing concerts.”  \nDoyle hails from Petty Harbour\, NL\, and formed Great Big Sea in 1993 with Sean McCann\, Bob Halle\, and Darrell Power\, in which they fused traditional Newfoundland music with their own pop sensibilities. Enjoy the jazz club vibe as you savour a glass of wine in a setting that is up close and personal with the band. \nItamar Erez is an internationally renowned composer\, guitarist\, and pianist\, who blends the delicateness of Middle Eastern music\, the freedom found in jazz\, and the passion of flamenco\, to create a unique sound. Erez received the 2014 ACUM Prize for Special Achievement in Jazz and the prestigious 2014 Landau Prize. The quartet also features John Nicholson (sax)\, Jeff Gammon (bass)\, and Kevin Romain (drums). \nItamar has released 5 abums so far. Two with his quartet The Adama Ensemble’s “Desert Song” (2006) & “Hommage” (2010) and a duet collaboration with Yshai Afterman (percussion)\, and special guest Antonio Serrano (harmonica) called “New Dawn” (2013). His first solo album “Mi Alegria” was released in June 2019 and has received raving reviews\, both nationally and internationally\, including a nomination for the 2020 Instrumental Artist of the Year Award from the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Following an unusual start to her day\, Alex is handed a magic pen that allows her to visit imaginary worlds. Finding herself moving swiftly from one adventure to another Alex comes across all kinds of characters. Wanting to find answers to her questions Alex will need to decide whom she can truly trust while overcoming an unexpected threat to the balance among the worlds. Will our heroine see her perseverance rewarded and save everyone? \nThe story is told by music that carries you from Camelot’s Arthurian legends to Sherlock Holmes’ investigations then transports you to a ship out of The Pirates of the Caribbean before you board a spacecraft out of Star Wars.
