DESCRIPTION:La Cafamore presents \nMusic of the Mendelssohns: String Quartets by Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn \nMonday March 27th at 7:30 pm at The Trail United Church – 1300 PIne Ave\, Trail \nTickets $20.  General Admission. Children 12 and under are free and do not need a ticket. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Masks are recommended but not mandatory.  \nPerforming as a string quartet\, La Cafamore presents Music of the Mendelssohns featuring two string quartets composed by the incredibly talented siblings Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn. La Cafamore is Carolyn Cameron (violin)\,  Kaito Takeda (viola)\, Natasha Hall (violin) and Maria Wang (cello).  \nCarolyn Cameron is a founding member of La Cafamore and has  performed and managed the group for over 10 years. She received her musical  training on piano & violin in Saskatoon and has used her knowledge as a  performer\, teacher\, adjudicator and composer. She has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra\, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra\, the Regina  Symphony and the Symphony of the Kootenays. Carolyn lives in Rossland.   \nMaria Wang – Born in Taipei\, Taiwan\, Maria began her musical  training on the piano and later on the cello at age 13. After pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at West Virginia University\, Maria moved to  Victoria with her family and completed a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance at the University of Victoria in 2014\, studying under the tutelage of Pamela Highbaugh-Aloni\, the cellist of the renown Lafayette String  Quartet. Since then\, Maria has been actively teaching at local music programs\, including Sooke Music Academy Orchestra\, Windstar Music  Academy\, and Sooke Harmony Project. She also enjoys teaching privately on the cello and beginner piano in Victoria. \nKaito Takeda – Based in Victoria\, B.C.\, multi-instrumentalist Kaito Takeda brings his passion for music to many stages. Crossing musical genres\, Kai has performed with various ensembles including the Victoria Symphony as well as arranging and performing with his band\, Auburn Blind\, and string quartet\, Breakwater Quartet. He has recently found a passion in copyist work as well as enjoying the challenges that come with the precision necessary to work as a session musician for film scores and albums. \nNatasha Hall – Prior to her recent move back to her hometown of Nelson BC\, Natasha spent the last decade based in London UK and is a member of the English Chamber Orchestra. She has performed regularly with the BBC Symphony Orchestra\, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra\, Royal Northern Sinfonia\, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Aurora Orchestra. Natasha has received numerous awards for her violin performances and is a winner of the Calgary Concerto and Morningside Music Bridge Chamber Music Competitions. \nTwo sets with a 15min intermission. Doors open 30 minutes before show time. Tickets can be picked up at the door on show night. Or at the Bailey Theatre Box Office during regular box office hours Mon-Friday 12 -4 pm.
