DESCRIPTION:Bluegrass fiddle meets modern country for tonight’s two performances.  \nMountain String Band kicks off the evening at 6:15 pm. Learn more at http://ucrastringband.ca. \nOur very own Lisa Nicole headlines tonight with her band from 7-8 pm!  A true musical self-starter whose story-driven lyrics are fused with a modern country sound and a strong yet carefree stage presence\, Lisa Nicole has earned warm admiration from fans and deep respect from industry peers alike who value her tireless work ethic and her fun-loving personality. \nHailing from Castlegar\, her childhood was sprinkled with the sounds of Shania Twain\, Martina McBride\, and the Dixie Chicks\, Lisa Nicole discovered her own love of singing at the age of 8. By 15\, she was playing regular jam sessions at Kootenay-area bars\, which required her to be escorted on and offstage due to herage. After high school\, Lisa followed her ambitions to Selkirk College of Contemporary Music and Technology\, completing a ‘Songwriting and Performance’ diploma with a Major in Vocals.  \nIn 2013\,Lisa Nicole made a strong entrance into the Canadian country music industry with her debut EP\, “It Got Ugly” and a showcase at the 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards. Industry recognition followed with 2014 BC Country Music Association Award nominations for the Ray McAuley Horizon Award and Music Video of the Year. She went to the Canadian mainstages of Sunfest\, Rockin’ River Fest\, The Calgary Stampede\, and Sturgis North Music Fest\, and capped off a banner year by winning the 2015 BCCMA/Music BC Artist Development Project\, which included a Nashville songwriting trip and placement Canada’s Music Incubator 10-week Artist Entrepreneur Program.  \nLisa Nicole’s Award Manifested into the2016 EP release of “Come Find Me”\, produced byTom McKillip and Carly McKillip\, which led to coast-to-coast Canadian tour\, three radio single releases\, two more BCCMA nominations\, a once-in-a-lifetime impromptu on-stage performance with Keith Urban at a Nashville pop-up concert\, and back-to-back Canadian Music Week Showcases in 2017 and 2018. Eager to immerse herself in the creative hub of Music City\, Lisa embarked on an extended songwriting adventure by moving to Nashville  for the spring of 2018–an experience that empowered her with fresh inspiration and new creative energy. After performing as part of 2018 Canadian Country Music Week in Hamilton\, she connected with CCMA award-winning producer Jeff Johnsonto produce her first full-length album\, 2021’s “Where Wild Hearts Beat”–defined by a sharp commercial edge while maintaining Lisa Nicole’s pristine country ways. \nMusic in the Park is held at Trail’s Gyro Park every Thursday starting at 6.15 pm\, except for the Night Market shows on July 7 and August 4 when the event will run from 5 pm. Come down and feel the buzz again at this fabulous outdoor summer event. \nWith entrance by donation\, Kootenay Savings Music in the Park is the perfect opportunity to bring a lawn chair or a blanket\, get outside and listen to live music with friends.  \nPlease remember\, No Smoking\, No Dogs\, and especially No Smoking Dogs! \nAdmission is by donation – $3 minimum suggested.
