How We Can Help. A presentation by Zak Matieschyn\, NP(F) \nTuesday\, Feb 15th at 7 pm at The Muriel Griffiths Room of The Bailey Theatre \nDrug use is common in all societies and has been as far back as records exist. The scene is different now\, though. We have a poisoned drug supply. People who normally wouldn’t have a problem with drug use are dying because of poisoned drugs. For those with an addiction\, human connection makes all the difference. \nOur speaker\, Zak Matieschyn\, is a Nurse Practitioner who has completed an Addiction Fellowship with the BC Centre for Substance Use. He currently maintains an addiction practice in Nelson and is the Acting Executive Director of the Nursing Policy Secretariat in the BC Ministry of Health. Zak is committed to making life better for people who use drugs and will bring us his practical perspective to how we can support them\, from his many years in research and practice. The series includes training opportunities\, a social media campaign and speaker series and more. Partners include Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy\, Selkirk College\, Trail Community Action Team\, Trail & District Arts Council\, and Trail & District Public Library. \nCOVID Protocols•All attendees 12 years of age or older must present their BC or Federal Vaccine Certificate showing TWO doses of a COVID19 vaccination AND government photo identification. Ticketholders\, who are unable to comply\, cannot attend and should inform our box office that they will not be attending.•Mask required at all times.•This presentation is currently capped at 50 audience members. If provincial restrictions are lifted\, audience size will be increased.•Doors open 30 minutes before the presentation. We’ll check your name against our attendee list at the door. •Not feeling well?
